Announcing the Mary L. MacGregor Memorial Award
Osgoode Hall Law School has announced the Mary L. MacGregor Memorial Award. It will be awarded to a second- or third-year JD student with financial need, high academic standing, an interest in estate law and active community involvement in the law school. The family, friends and colleagues of Mary MacGregor donated the award.
MacGregor was a trust and estates lawyer for more than four decades. She taught estates and succession law at Osgoode Hall Law School and estate planning and administration for the Ontario Bar Admission Course. She authored several definitive texts on trusts and estates, including the Preparation of Wills and Powers of Attorney: First Interview to Final Report, third ed. (Canada Law Book), and was an editor of O’Brien’s Encyclopedia of Forms, Wills and Trusts, Division V. In 2011, the Ontario Bar Association distinguished her with the Award for Excellence in Trusts and Estates. MacGregor was a partner at Dickson Appell LLP for over two decades until her retirement.
