Working outside the courts can be more efficient than deciding your family law case in court. That’s why many choose negotiation or mediation to come to terms when separating or divorcing. Whether representing my clients at the negotiation table, or helping them find the right balance in their mediated agreements, I work beside my clients, every step of the way.
Collaborative Divorce
In a collaborative divorce, both sides are represented by a Collaborative Lawyer, agreeing to commit to open communication and full disclosure of key information like financial information. The collaborative process is designed to provide a friendly, confidential negotiation process. As an accredited Collaborative Lawyer, I can represent your interests during the negotiation, or review your agreement to ensure it is in your best interests.
Complex or Simple Cases
Despite what many think, alternative dispute resolution processes for family law (like negotiation and meditation) can be used to settle high-conflict or complex separation or divorce cases. In fact, many find the process is better than court. Each party has a chance to communicate and be involved in the process from beginning to end. Even with mediation, however, it’s important that each party obtains independent legal advice to evaluate the agreement.
